Simple Sugared Strawberries

Strawberries are sweet by nature but sprinkling them with the tiniest bit of sugar and giving them time to sit for a bit draws out their juices. The strawberries and sugar become an instant sauce that is delicious by themselves or served over yogurt. Simple and sweet.

Yield: 4 servings

Materials

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1-2 tsp sugar

Instructions

  • Combine strawberries with sugar in a serving dish. Let the mixture stand for 30-60 minutes before serving. If preparing in advance cover and refrigerate until needed.
